The Sand and Surf was the perfect setting for our parent’s 60th anniversary celebration weekend. The home is stunning, incredibly clean, and the views of the ocean are unforgettable. One of our favorite memories was hosting our own paint-and-sip on the huge front porch while overlooking the water. It was the perfect setting to relax, laugh, and make memories together. Ed and Barbara were exceptional hosts—friendly, responsive, accommodating, and genuinely wonderful people. From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. What made this stay even more special is that we were here exactly 10 years ago celebrating my parents' 50th anniversary. It was wonderful to return and create another weekend full of memories with our family. We only hope our next visit comes sooner than 10 years from now!

We chose this property for our family reunion. I am one of 29 first cousins on my father's side. We get together every few years to cherish and honor our heritage. This venue is one of the best we have ever stayed in. The views are stunning. The front porch is to die for. The entire facility was very clean. On the first floor, there are three sitting rooms appointed with comfortable leather couches and chairs. The open dining space was large enough for all of us. The large modern kitchen was well stocked with cookware and dinnerware. It has two refrigerators and two dishwashers. Upstairs the bedrooms were more than sufficient for a good night's sleep. it is close (walking distance) to eateries and souvenir shops. It was not inexpensive, but worth every penny to our group from all over the country. And did I mention the spectacular front porch?

Wonderful spot for our annual ladies weekend. This is our 3rd year at Sand & Surf. Plenty of room to spread out and great spaces for large groups to gather. The porch is amazing. The kitchen is fully equipped. The large dining room table is key. Love the sun room. Cannot beat the view. The house is made for this.

Totally top notch stay. Property is among the best we've visited for 20-member family reunion. Super clean - very well maintained with great balance of modernized and historic. Absolutely amazing site with big porch, great ocean and sunset views. Comfy bedrooms, well equipped kitchen and lots of spaces to gather. Excellent location - walk to beaches and Nubble Light, walk to restaurants/shops/ice cream and easy drives to a range of villages and activities. Excellent!

My family has a vacation situation that leads us to York Beach about once every 5 years with a big group - 24 in all - and few places can hold all of us. We have twice been to the Sand & Surf and love it beyond words! Ed is fantastic, the property is quaint yet modern (as far as kitchen and other amenities) and the beach and town are just a short walk away. I can't wait to return!!

I can’t say enough about this wonderful house. We just returned from an extended family vacation of 24 people, and it met our needs perfectly. Highlights include superb maintenance, great kitchen (we love to cook together) and dining areas, and an enormous front porch perfect for a big dinner or just lounging throughout the day for reading, talking, and listening to the waves. More chairs across the (quiet) road provide additional space to sit and relax. Short Sands beach and the village are only a few minutes away, even with young children in tow. The only problem is that real life eventually returns and we had to go home!

Our week at Sand and Surf is something all 20+ of us look forward to and this year was no exception. Walking into the house it was clear to see and feel the wonderful updates that Ed & Barbara put into the home over the winter season. From the new stove and refrigerator to the whole house air conditioning and new furniture - the couch on the front porch was a favorite of everyones! With over 20 family members ranging in age from 1-70+ the house has something for everyone and feels like home the minute we walk in. The kids (and grownups) are already looking forward to next year!

Absolutely the perfect place for our family reunion! Don’t know where to start… the kitchen is amazing, unbelievably well equipped. 2 refrigerators, 2 dishwashers, PLENTY of dishes, glassware, gadgets. Loved the multiple “living” spaces- a very large porch with plenty of chairs, a sunroom, a “TV” room with comfy couches, plus 2 more sitting areas. Bedrooms were great, ceiling fans in each one. The location and views are fabulous. Hosts and manager totally responsive and helpful. Can’t recommend highly enough!

Great house -- loved it! Our group of 19 really enjoyed our stay here. Lots of room for family dinners and playing board games. It was nice to have 2 refrigerators with such a large group of people. Great view from the spacious front porch. Short walk to the beach, shops, lighthouse. House was very clean and the hosts were easy to communicate with.

Just back from a week at Sand and Surf. This was our 7th year with a large family vacation. The house had plenty of room for all 15 of us. Ed and Barbara always provide a clean and well stocked home and this year was no exception. Extra care went into cleaning and providing us with a perfect retreat for the week. Kids (and adults) are already looking forward to next year.

Our stay at the Sun & Surf was magnificent! It was the perfect house & location for our family reunion. The various gathering spaces in the home were perfect. The spacious porch and cozy sunroom were perfect spots to admire the beautiful view of the ocean. Ed was so accommodating to all of our requests. We loved every minute of our stay!

We had a family reunion at this fabulous property. It was spacious enough for all of us and right on the water with a great view. Incredibly clean and comfortable. This house was beyond perfect for our grandparents’ 60th wedding anniversary celebration. They did not want a surprise party but they were thrilled to spend the weekend with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The space was aplenty - even leaving room for more to join in the fun in the coming years. And we loved the house so much we were here together every evening instead of going to a restaurant. Awesome house! Great change of pace here in Maine. It was our first time to come this far north. We usually go south along the Gulf Coast. Wow! My husband and I decided that we wanted to have our wedding in York. After searching for accommodations we decided that this house would be perfect. After looking through the pictures for months, the day finally arrived when we got to check in. We met with Ed and he gave us a full tour of the house. He was SO helpful and accommodating. The house is stunning. Every room is beautifully decorated and SOO clean. The entire house was immaculate. We had 20 guests staying with us any there was plenty of room. Everyone slept great and there were plenty of bathrooms for all guests to use. The location of the house is within walking distance to downtown, Nubble Light and Brown's Ice Cream. I honestly don't think we could have found a better location if we tried. I highly recommend this house to anyone who wants a perfect retreat.

Moffett Family Reunion - 21 (4 kids, 4 spouses, 11 grandchildren, and mom and dad) Absolutely fantastic week at Surf and Sand! Front porch coffee at 5am with infants to midnight monopoly games. From Mickey Mouse pancakes to Lobster dinners at the Lobster Cove. (Thanks Ed for the tip). Boat rides in Kennebunkport to bakery in Ogunquit. Boat rides in Perkins Cove to hikes along pathway. A Fyfe Family Reunion - Scott Fyfe and Craig Fyfe (twin brothers) with their wives, sons, daughters, grandson and granddaughter. The house was nicely situated so that we all could come and go for the day as we pleased - hiking, walking, whale watching, short sands beach, Perkins Cove, Marginal Way, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, etc. But at night we came back together to share a meal and a card game or movie. Such a blessing! Will be back!

The Sand And Surf was more than a house for our family and friends. It was an opportunity to gather from all parts of the country and all age groups. Our family and friends celebrated my son’s 1st birthday (9-12-15), my 30th birthday (9-7-15) and an early celebration of my husband’s 40th birthday (12-25-15). But mostly, it was a celebration of life, love, and happiness. We had heard we almost were outbid for this house, but Ed was in our plans and ha was nothing but accommodating to the utmost. Review #7456931 "Work Retreat" - This is the second time we have used the Sand and Surf House for a work retreat, once in November and most recently in March. York off season is very quiet, but the house is lovely and warm and is the perfect location.

There are enough bedrooms and bathrooms to offer privacy for co workers and the dining area made for a great meeting space. We love the house and Ed was wonderful to work with. We will be back again.

Review #6815016 "Comfort With A View!" Every other year I plan a reunion for my siblings and I (with significant others 22). I searched for many months to find a house that would accommodate us comfortably ... the Sand and Surf was it!! From its large efficient kitchen that allowed us to prepare meals together, to the incredible front porch overlooking the ocean, the house had everything we needed. Easy walk to the beach or downtown shopping and close to the famous lighthouse and ice cream shop. Making the arrangements for the rental was made easy with Ed's help (the owner) and the immaculately clean environment made possible by the very pleasant Tina (the manager). We have stayed at several large houses over the past few years, the Sand and Surf was a great venue, comfortable, clean, convenient, and what a view! Thanks Ed, look forward to doing business with you again.

Review #6413162 "We Didn't Want to Leave!" What an amazing location! The view from the front porch is breathtaking. Off to the right you can watch the sun rise over the ocean (which I did every morning from my bed, just looking out the window) and to the left you can watch the most amazing sunsets over the beach and town. It is a short and easy walk into town to enjoy the many wonderful restaurants, ice cream parlors and of course the daily stop at the arcade for the kids. We had family members ranging from kids to grandparents and we loved that there were things for everyone to enjoy. The house itself is beautiful as well. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need and the best ocean view location in town to eat your meal is your own front porch! The house was spotless! None of us wanted to leave! We can't wait to return to the Sand & Surf next year!

We are so appreciative of the exceptional job you have done restoring the glory of Sand and Surf while preserving its incredible beauty. We look forward to another wonder summer in 2014.

Review #6351228 "Picture perfect" Our family spent a wonderful week at Sand & Surf. Location, location, location, it was perfect. We sat on the porch and looked out at the ocean. The beach and downtown are just a short walk. The house was lovely with plenty of room for the young kids (9) and adults (9). We can't wait for next year’s vacation.

This house is enjoyable for all ages! Kids can play outside and in the rocks, adults can sit on the porch, and families can have breakfast by the sea. The picturesque house is in the perfect location, close to the town and seaside. It is just the right place to vacation in York Beach. Enjoy!
